Tech Notes

The Tyrfingr Network is (probably) a hypersigil project following the creation of an Ellisian Generator at the House on the Rock at the moment of full totality during the annular solar eclipse of October 14, 2023. I say "probably" because a) I did not exactly go in with a plan beyond setup but things escalated, and b) I'm not sure how many people have attempted live-blogging their journey while 9 miles down the rabbit hole, but here we are. Also I attempted to write up the experience in a manner similar to this *waves hand at rest of current page*, and the best I can tell you is that it was Wrong to the point of inaccuracy, and returning to the House post-... posting STS-136 only convinced me further that I'd committed to the correct bit even if prose is not normally my forte. As mentioned elsewhere, I feel like there's sometimes the expectation that the telling of a story is cathartic or healing, and I don't necessarily think that's true. I do think sometimes it will haunt you until you do so.

Despite being based in DKMU "hardware" there are some other familiar names and/or faces you may recognize, namely from the loose grouping of deities and other entities related to what is colloquially called the Norse pantheon/mythology. Despite the "chaote" label likely being most apt for me, I am not one who subscribes to the idea that one can switch "paradigms" without considering cultural and other contexts (the later editions of Prime Chaos with the updated introduction by Phil Hine is a recommended read). That and tbf I did not spend the last almost-decade doing nothing but reading and rereading these gigs of PDFs for nothing, or at least that seems sillier than not doing what I'm good at. With that said, while all the personages of the Network fit into its narrative as it is, I recognize that some people who did other things with their last few years may still be curious, and admittedly things like the multitude of ocular issues and Snake Plissken jokes gain a sort of extra dimension when you know Óðinn's previously used his eye as wisdom currency and is the only member of the Æsir with a snake heiti, and who am I to rob you of new dimensions. So to that end the plan is to finish the "core" Network (finishing STS-137 and the eventual release of STS-138) and then begin adding on to that with stuff like the previous hyperlinks, though as is already evident I reserve the right to post extra shit whenever the mood strikes me.
